• Royal Childrens Hospital

  Contractor’s Joint Venture with A.E.Smith and A.G.Coombs

  Application – Ventilation Ducting

  Rayson Industries through Joint Venture contractors A.E. Smith and A.G. Coombs won the contract to provide Ventilation Ducting through the new Royal Children’s Hospital complex in Parkville. Rayson’s track record of quality and reliability was a winning combination when it came time to award the ventilation ducting contract. With many years of experience building systems of this nature Rayson staff provided an important consulting role in the final product. Rayson have delivered as they promised – on schedule and above specification, demonstrating flexibility in the ability to ramp up production as the building schedule altered and matching the availability of the contractor’s resources at every stage. There are 4 buildings of 6 levels each in the development. The total length of ducting being delivered by Rayson can be measured in kilometres and the quantity of bends and fittings in the thousands.

  This all makes for a challenging project where meeting deadlines and delivering to specification are paramount to a quality solution. Rayson have delivered all of the objectives in this regard.

• IXL Metal Castings - Fume Extraction System

  Prime Contractor - Insulpak
   

  As part of a $1m plant upgrade IXL commissioned Rayson Industries to manufacture the new dust extraction system for their Metal Casting plant. This project presented a number of challenges that Rayson manufacturing staff solved with some lateral thinking and clever design. Transporting the 15 X 6 metre hoods may have been an expensive exercise had it not been for the unique design allowing the hoods to be transported flat and then assembled onsite by site contractors. Environmental specifications dictated that special consideration was given to bends and fittings to ensure the efficiency of the system were not compromised. Rayson's unique Spiral Mate joining system was used to reduce installation costs and delivering a higher quality finish.

• National Ice Sports Centre

  Contractor - Entire Mechanical Services

  Rayson won the contract to produce the ductwork for the Henke Rink Ice Skating Centre in West Melbourne. Working to Entire's specifications the exposed ducting system was designed to be aesthetically pleasing and quick and easy to install. The use of Rayson's unique Spiral Mate joining system was a key component in delivering these objectives. The Spiral Mate joints replace the traditional "slip and rivet" process and as result there was a radical reduction of on site installation.  

• Riversdale Golf Club - Industrial Exhaust Hoods

  Contractor - Greater Pacific Engineering

  

  The kitchen catering facilities required a custom designed and built rangehood that complemented their new cooking facilities. The main hood over the cooking range, ovens and hotplates was 2.4 X 5.6 metres. Rayson were able to tailor the design to fit around existing structural obstacles without compromising the performance of the extraction system.    

   

   

   

• Oxford Cold Store - Refrigerated Ducting

  Contractor - Consulting Services

  

  This project involved producing Spiroduct to carry the ventilation of refrigerated air throughout Oxford Cold Storage facility. Working closely with the contractor at all stages during the project has delivered a high quality result for all stakeholders. Rayson delivered the large sections of Spiroduct with hangers,  and branch take offs, pre-assembled and ready for installation. Another way that Rayson is able to deliver a world class result with a drastic reduction in on site assembly time.
